Join us for this training on September 25, 2014 from 4:30 pm-7:30 pm. Learn hands-on about the best iPad apps for blind and low vision users for access to education and employment. See full description and register below.

In this workshop you will learn about the best iPad apps for blind and low vision users, for access to education and employment. This will include magnification, High contrast, apps that emulate a CCTV, Apps for real-time OCR (optical character recognition) and text to speech, connection to a television with Apple TV to work as a CCTV, apps that provide access to scanned documents such as work materials or education materials to enlarge the font size and have it read out loud, using built-in accessibility such as zoom and voice over with several apps, Access to audiobooks, money identification, object and color identification, navigation and directions, access to email and phone calls/ contacts, and connecting to a refreshable Braille display for work at school and in business. Portable iPad stands and mounts will also be shown. Apps to benefit students in elementary through post-secondary grades will be shown as well as workplace and productivity apps for adults.
