The Swiss National Association of and for the Blind (SNAB), in collaboration with the Access for All foundation and the service provider xyMedia, has developed an important innovation for visually impaired people. The VIP PDF-Reader overcomes a previously insurmountable problem for people with a visual impairment who want to read and work with PDF files. This innovative product is now available free of charge to Windows, Mac and Linux users.

This Glove Could Help Deaf-Blind People Communicate With Anyone, Anywhere

This is phenomenal technology with SO much potential for individuals who are deaf-blind and other uses and users, including those who need AAC. Currently deaf-blind users can also communicate with anyone, anytime using certain refreshable braille displays, if they know braille, and the person communicating with them does not need to know braille, and they work with laptops, iPads, iphones, etc, such as this one:

This is still the best app I recommend often for text to speech for Bookshare books, scanned documents/ handouts/ worksheets, newspapers and articles from the web, and more. Excellent features for assistance with reading!

Voice Dream Reader version 2.8 is out! It’s a big release with many new features like Pronunciation Dictionary and Configurable Navigation which are more advanced than any text-to-speech reader in the market.
